The Akhir was one of the Cantieri di Pisa’s most famous models throughout the 1980 and 90s.
Now the yard founded at Limite sull’Arno in 1945 has been acquired by Mondomarine which is relaunching that legendary moniker, this time penned by Luca Dini. The result is the Akhir 42S in which the Florentine designer has reinterpreted, preserved and given a modern slant to some of the styling cues that set Tommaso Spadolini’s design apart from its contemporaries.
The new Akhir retains the original’s smoked glass windows, instantly-recognisable bow shape and signature roll-bar.
More importantly still, however, the Akhir42S has the same superstructure to hull ratio that turned its predecessor into an authentic style icon. The master suite is forward on the main deck while the sky lounge on the upper one extends the owner’s private space impressively.
