First times are never forgotten. And Azimut’s Seadeck 9 had the weight and aura of events destined to leave their mark. More than a launch, it was a manifesto. Because presenting a boat born for the sea in the heart of the Alps, in Avigliana, means overturning the traditional grammar of nautical storytelling. All around, the mountains form an unexpected horizon; in the air, however, the scent of the sea is tangible. A paradox only in appearance.

Holding this geographical and symbolic short circuit together are the boats themselves: objects capable of transforming a place far from the coast into a marine outpost. Azimut has always done this, and the Seadeck 9 is only the latest, powerful confirmation of this deep and identity-defining bond. But it would be reductive to stop there. Because this debut tells us much more. The latest arrival is not only the flagship of the range of the same name, but will go down in history as the first model to be launched in a real ceremony complete with a bottle, national anthem, and an audience made up of all the workers involved in the construction of the 26-meter boat at the shipyard.

“Avigliana is unique in the industry: building boats under the mountains has spurred us to develop new solutions, to push our technical and engineering capabilities to the max, to manage the entire process, from fiberglass and carbon fiber to the finished boat. Seadeck 9 is the product of fifty years spent making the seemingly unthinkable possible, of fifty years of challenges overcome.” These were the words spoken from the stage by Giovanna Vitelli, President of the Azimut|Benetti Group.

Seadeck 9: back to nature
With the Seadeck 9, Azimut is not just introducing a new model to the range, but consolidating and further highlighting a precise design vision. On a larger scale than the previous Seadeck 6 and 7, the new flagship of the line takes an identity-defining concept to the extreme: experiencing the sea in a more conscious, fluid, and natural way, reducing all forms of mediation between man, boat, and environment.

A new design idea: the exteriors
The centerpiece of this experience is the stern area, renamed Fun Island. Here, the design becomes manifest. An area of approximately 60 square meters in total, spread over three levels, which overturns the traditional hierarchy of spaces on board and puts outdoor living at the center. The fold-down bulwarks amplify the perception of space, while the pathways are designed to accompany the owner and guests towards the sea in a natural and continuous way.

Entering the water, facilitated by a platform with a submerged ladder, is no longer a technical gesture but an integral part of the sailing experience. This vision was translated into form by the creativity of Alberto Mancini, who designed the exterior lines, and the design approach of Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez, responsible for the interiors. A synergistic effort, in which each element contributes to strengthening the dialogue with the surrounding environment. Nothing is left to chance, starting with a design that rejects the clear separation between interior and exterior in favor of visual and sensory continuity.

The interiors
The interior design follows the same logic: large floor-to-ceiling windows open the rooms up to the horizon, while the materials, color palette, and furnishings evoke a relaxed and organic atmosphere. The shapes are essential, never rigid; the furnishings, closer to the world of outdoor and contemporary hospitality than to that of traditional yachting, invite a new idea of comfort, informal yet sophisticated. On the technical front, the Seadeck 9 takes a further step forward in terms of propulsion.

The Seadeck 9 is equipped with a traditional Volvo Penta engine, but is also designed for a hybrid system, a solution that confirms the shipyard’s commitment to investing in technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact and ensuring more efficient and quieter navigation. This is a fundamental element that reinforces the consistency of a project designed, in every detail, to bring the onboard experience back to a direct and authentic dialogue with the sea., a solution that confirms the shipyard’s commitment to investing in technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact and ensuring more efficient and quieter navigation.
