A 77 metre by Mathis Rühl

The R77 is a spectacular new project from French architect Mathis Rühl that’s completely automated as well as superbly aerodynamic regardless of wind angles. It won’t catch the wind too much either under motor power with its sails reefed or while riding at anchor.   It is also Panamax-friendly with masts of 62.5 metres or under to allow it glide under the Bridge of the Americas on the Panama Canal.

Mathis Rühl has developed a new multiple rotating twin wing mast configuration for the yacht and is awaiting patent on it. The rig requires a specific deck plan but has also allowed him to develop a completely new type of megasailer.
