AB Yachts announces the launch at its Viareggio shipyard of the first AB 95S, the Sport version of the AB 95, designed to further enhance the brand’s high-performance DNA.
With this new vessel, AB Yachts reaffirms its commitment to speed and technological innovation, offering a yacht developed for owners seeking the pure adrenaline and unforgettable thrill of speed on the water, always in safety and with style. The AB 95S reaches and exceeds a top speed of 53 knots in ‘fast lap’ configuration.
The sale, to an experienced American owner, was handled by the brokerage firm ‘FGI Yacht Group’, specifically by broker Simon Graham, who commented: “The launch marks an exciting milestone for the owner and for the entire team that worked on the project, and we are proud to have represented the buyer in bringing such an exceptional yacht to life.”
The AB 95S stands out for an even sleeker and more aggressive aesthetic: this Sport version features sinuous, sporty lines with a wraparound windscreen—an iconic element that emphasises the boat’s racing character—and a sunroof integrated into the aerodynamic profile of the superstructure. A design choice that visually lowers the lines, accentuates the clean lines of the design and allows the main deck to be experienced with a strong open-air connection, whilst maintaining the unmistakable AB Yachts silhouette.
Main Deck
The main deck is conceived as an open, continuous space, where the sensation of speed is accompanied by brightness and openness towards the sea. At the stern, a fully-fledged beach area on the water, fully equipped and ready for use, providing space for tenders and numerous water toys, including a tender of 4 metres or more, a jet ski and countless inflatables, all extremely easy to handle. The cockpit then welcomes guests into an ideal setting for socialising and relaxation, flowing seamlessly into the interior saloon. The large glass surfaces and wraparound windscreen ensure a commanding view of the horizon, whilst the sunroof enhances the feeling of freedom whilst underway. The bridge, a high-tech feature by AB Yachts, developed in collaboration with Fincantieri for the exclusive ‘integrated bridge by AB Yachts’, is perfectly integrated into the deck layout and reflects the brand’s technical DNA: ergonomics, total control and advanced instrumentation are designed for precise handling even at high speeds. The study of materials has led to the use of insulated panels, leather and suede, which help to soundproof the below-deck areas and reduce noise.
Lower Deck
The Lower Deck houses the sleeping quarters, organised to offer maximum comfort diand privacy. The spaces can accommodate up to 8 guests, depending on the configuration chosen by the owner, with a full-beam owner’s suite and guest cabins finished to the highest standard. The attention to materials, finishes and lighting
helps to create a refined and contemporary atmosphere, where Italian design interacts with functional solutions designed for life on board at high speed. The separate crew area ensures efficient operation and discretion whilst underway.
Performance
The AB 95S is one of the first yachts on the market to be equipped with MAN V12X-2200 engines, delivering a total of 6,600 horsepower of pure adrenaline. The hull and deck are constructed from composite materials with extensive use of carbon fibre, a choice that keeps displacement to around 93 tonnes and optimises the power-to-weight ratio.
In this configuration, the yacht exceeds 53 knots top speed (fast lap), offering rapid and progressive acceleration, excellent manoeuvrability and control even at high speeds, as well as outstanding performance in terms of vibration and noise levels.
The result is a smooth, stable and engaging ride that is both safe and efficient, where performance, enjoyment and comfort coexist in perfect balance.
Following its launch at the Viareggio shipyard, the vessel has commenced its initial sea trials and will proceed with the final stages of outfitting prior to delivery to the owner next April.
