The recent evolution of Amer Yachts marks a turning point for the mid‑size superyacht segment, an area in which the Ligurian shipyard has always expressed a strong design identity. With the new Amer 9, Amer 10 and Amer 12, developed in collaboration with the Milan‑based studio Aoumm, this identity is reinterpreted through a more architectural language, a more fluid management of space and a vision of sustainability that is no longer an added value but a structural principle. These three models that do not simply refresh the range: they rethink it from the ground up.
Amer 9: the 28‑metre yacht that introduces a new spatial order
The Amer 9 is built on the proven 4.0 hull, but reinterprets it with a more rigorous geometric approach and a more open relationship with the sea. The large glazed surfaces, highlighted by both sources, amplify the sense of continuity between interior and exterior, while the deck layout introduces a clearer and more functional organisation of flows. The separation between guest areas and service spaces is distinct but not rigid, and the presence of two helm stations – one inside and one outside – allows for versatile operation, conceived for both technical navigation and social cruising.
The result is a 28‑metre yacht that does not aim for spectacle but for a new logic of liveability, more aligned with contemporary needs for privacy, comfort and direct contact with the water.
Amer 10: the navetta‑explorer that expands space and seasons
With the Amer 10, the shipyard takes a further step, blending the tradition of the navetta with the attitude of an explorer yacht. The sources underline how this model represents the evolution of the Amer 100, but with a more architectural imprint: the main saloon opens into a brighter, more continuous environment, the beach club is enlarged and the terraces integrate into a system of spaces that interact seamlessly.
A central element is the scenic staircase, which becomes a true structural and visual fulcrum, connecting the decks in a single fluid trajectory. The Amer 10 is not just a larger yacht: it is a more habitable one, designed to be lived in year‑round, with a layout that removes visual barriers and amplifies the perception of volume.
Amer 12: three configurations for three ways of living the sea
The largest of the three models, the Amer 12, uses its size to offer a level of layout flexibility rarely seen in this segment. The three configurations – Classic, Charter and Luxury – are not simple variants but three interpretations of life on board. The Classic version, highlighted by SuperYacht24, responds to the profile of the brand’s traditional owner, with a master suite on the main deck and four cabins on the lower deck, arranged to ensure maximum privacy.
The Charter and Luxury versions, mentioned by YachtBuyer, further expand the possibilities, introducing separate circulation paths for guests and crew and a spatial organisation that can be adapted depending on the intended use. This is where Aoumm’s design philosophy emerges most clearly: fluid spaces, sustainable materials, comfort as a structural principle.
A shared vision
All three models share a clear orientation toward sustainable innovation, demonstrated by the adoption of Volvo Penta IPS propulsion systems, which the shipyard has used for over a decade to reduce consumption, vibrations and environmental impact. Added to this is the materials library developed by Aoumm, a tool that evaluates each material based on durability, life cycle and comfort, representing one of the most interesting methodological innovations of the project.
At the same time, the collaboration with Optima Design – responsible for the new all‑aluminium Amer 42A – contributes to defining a design ecosystem in which composite and metal coexist as complementary paths, both oriented toward a more efficient and more conscious future.
