Admiral Antartica Project
The Admiral Antartica project celebrates the Italian Sea Group’s maiden foray into domain of the explorer vessel. At 75 metres in length, this is also the largest yacht to date to find its way into the Group’s order book. From a stylistic point of view, the exterior lines underscore a superstructure that has been shifted forward to free up the aft section for a proper heliport for an helicopter as big as the new-generation Agusta Grand helicopter.
The yard focused most of its design work on the aft section as this is a very much a working area that includes not just a hangar for the helicopter but also a refuelling station plus a cabin and an office for the pilot. The interior layout ushers in some exciting new elements too. For starters, the main deck has been dedicated entirely to the owner’s quarters which cover a massive 300 square metres.
They include a sleeping area aft and a lounge area and second cabin in the bow section. Guests have five staterooms at their disposal on the lower deck as well as a large communal area with an observation lounge forward on the upper deck. The pilothouse and a further VIP stateroom are on the bridge deck. Scheduled for delivery in 2018, Project 575 will be certified Lloyd’s Register EMEA ID ICE-Class.
