The New Stelvio Alfa Romeo
Technology, connectivity and ADAS are this great new model’s greatest strengths.
The 2020 evolution of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is very much about substance rather than style. Exterior-wise it differs from its predecessor only in its side badges and new bodywork colour choices. But inside is a very different story. Here the focus is firmly on infotainment, human-machine interface and ADAS. An 8.7″ TFT touchscreen has widget graphics to create a personalised home page. Thanks to the Alfa Connect Service, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2020 is a fully connected car with a variety of handy functions: My Assistant (automatic SOS calls), My Remote (remote control from your mobile), My Car (car status check), My Navigation (interactive navigator), My Wi-Fi (sharing onboard connection), and My Theft Assistance (attempted theft alerts).

The new Stelvio 2020’s active and passive safety systems are also worth a mention as they deliver Level 2 Partial Driving Automation, which is the highest level permitted under current law. This means that the driver can allow the car to control acceleration, steering and braking in specific conditions but can still take back control at any moment. The available functions are Lane Keeping (alerts the driver if the car moves out of lane without indicating and, if necessary, will move it back in), Active Blind Spot Sport, Active Cruise Control (adjusts speed), Traffic Sign Recognition (adjusts speed to road sign levels), Traffic Jam and Highway Assist (keeps the car in the middle of the lane), and Driver Attention (monitors the driver’s alertness or otherwise).
