Following the success in 2016, the Cannes Yachting Festival is organising the third edition of the Concours d’Elegance on Thursday 14th September at 5pm.
The Concours d’Elégance, reserved for show exhibitors, owners or collectors of motorboats and day boats of less than 12 metres, will take place in the historic setting of the Vieux Port of Cannes, near the Beach Club, the VIP pontoon and the Festival beach.
The Beach Club is a new area located on the beach next to the VIP shuttle dock. Reserved for exhibitors to organise their private events, it will be dedicated to the VIP spectators during the Concours d’Elégance to ensure them an panoramic view on the parade and to provide them with privileged services.
This exceptional showcase will be an opportunity to discover a parade of vintage and modern day boats and to pay tribute to the rich history of sailing boats in the heart of the Riviera.
The boats are steered by elegant crews and parade in front of the visitors, journalists, professionals, amateurs and a jury of experts.
The jury takes the following aspects into consideration: the quality of the restoration and design of the boat, its state of conservation and its history, the rarity of the model, the elegance of the crew and the quality of the parade.
Following the parade, participants, partners and journalists will be invited to the awards ceremony to be held at the VIP Club of the Cannes Yachting Festival at 6.30 pm. A large number of awards will be presented by the partners.
20 boats will be divided into two categories, each receiving a prize: - Boats built before 1980 - Boats built a er 1980. The jury will also award “The most elegant woman” and the “Jury’s Favourite”
