Cor D Rover pens the new FD 85 bu Horizon Yacht

The FD85 is a 26 m fast displacement motor yacht designed by Cor D. Rover and built by Horizon Yachts to the highest specifications within the 24 m rule (CE classification).
The hull volume increased with 25%, which gives the FD85 yacht an extremely spacious interior with a robust character. With a full-beam King master stateroom, two VIP queen staterooms and two twin quest staterooms below deck this yacht provides five en suite guest staterooms. The crew quarters are found just forward of the engine room.

The first FD85 was designed with lower glass windows that give an intimate atmosphere. The first built was accomplished with floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the main salon and formal dining room as well as the Master stateroom, what increases in natural light in these areas. The pilothouse is equipped with an integrated instruments panel, L shaped seats and large windows for optimal view.

Together with Horizon Yachts we accomplished to a result of the FD85 with the most innovative features, modern exterior styling and a tremendous interior volume. For the outdoor spaces, Cor D. Rover and Horizon Yachts focused on both function and entertainment when designing the FD85. The twin staircases from the aft deck to the flybridge provide a stylish design feature that is also practical.
The flybridge offers space for sunbathing, a hot tub, full bar, two adjacent L-shaped dinettes and an outdoor helm which is connected to the interior helm for easy transition. Crew quarters can be reached by the staircase from the port aft deck and from the swim platform.

To achieve flexible cruise speeds without compromising performance we focused specifically on the hull. To suit worldwide market’s preferences, the choice for engines is flexible. The FD85 is now performed with twin CAT C18 1136HP engines, that gives a high efficiency from a slow cruise of 10 knots to a faster cruise of 16 knots. Also the layout is for reference. Adjustments can be made according to the clients requests.
Currently at the drawing table a FD65 is underway
