On the one hand, the industrial solidity and prestige of a US shipyard; on the other, the design sensibility of an Italian designer. In between, the meeting of two nautical cultures that are seemingly distant but surprisingly complementary.
This is the calling card of the Longtail 125, a 38-metre concept developed by Italian designer Roberto Curtò for Delta Marine. At the heart of the project is a desire to celebrate the outdoors: generous decks, a spectacular swimming pool and convivial spaces designed to transform the yacht into a natural extension of the sea.
These spaces invite you to enjoy your time on board with the same light-heartedness as long days spent along the Mediterranean coast, where the boundary between boat, water and horizon seems to dissolve. The social heart of the boat takes shape at the stern: a large, immersive area where a large swimming pool is integrated directly into the beach club.
Thanks to the sliding side sofas, the cockpit can change its appearance in a matter of moments, transforming from a panoramic lounge overlooking the horizon to a stunning dance floor suspended over the water. A fluid space, capable of adapting to different moments of the day: from the quiet of the afternoon to the vitality of evenings at sea.
From the sculpted lines of the exterior to the layout of the interior, everything is designed to promote conviviality and the pleasure of living in close contact with the water. Balanced proportions, soft materials and meticulous details create a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.
The interiors, spacious and bright, maintain an intimate and welcoming feel. The stylistic language is clean and contemporary, characterised by measured elegance and great attention to detail. The large windows with rounded corners contribute to a modern and bright aesthetic, while the lowered windows in the cabins bring the water closer to the interior spaces, amplifying the continuous dialogue with the sea.
In the sky lounge, natural coverings with light textures add warmth and depth to the rooms. The Delta Marine Longtail thus interprets a refined and contemporary vision of yacht design, where fluid proportions and sculpted volumes merge into a dynamic silhouette with taut lines.
‘Working with Roberto has been extremely stimulating,’ said Michelle Jones of Delta Marine. ‘His vision is playful, expressive and confident. He has pushed us to look with new eyes at what a Delta yacht can become.’
