Our new 2025 collection is Pantalica, designed by Elisa Ossino as a tribute to art, circularity and ancient Mediterranean inspiration, explain Giulia Molteni, Marketing and Communications Director of the Molteni Group. The name refers to the UNESCO site near Syracuse, in Sicily, and the pieces in the collection are sculptural furnishings with archaic forms, but developed according to the contemporary principles of the circular economy. Each element is both a functional object and a natural sculpture, with a design that reflects a meditative atmosphere.

The distinctive polypropylene weave creates a link between the object and the serenity of nature, emphasising the fusion of tradition and innovation. For Molteni&C, the outdoor sector is not limited to boating, but embraces residential, hospitality and retail. Our purpose is clear: through the creation of moments that enhance people’s well-being, we want to promote a culture of quality living. The polypropylene weaves, a key element of the collection, are ideal for outdoor use and completely recyclable, guaranteeing a sustainable life cycle. The Pantalica collection rethinks outdoor spaces by blending tradition and contemporaneity, with versatile proposals capable of satisfying different tastes and always respecting the environment. In recent years, we have seen a growing focus on creating outdoor environments that offer the same comfort and quality as interiors. Today, customers want bespoke solutions that can be personalised to suit their unique lifestyle.

Design, versatility and functionality have become essential elements, as has sustainability, a value that is increasingly central to the choices of consumers, who are aware of the environmental impact of products. Our commitment is to offer lifestyle solutions that combine the craftsmanship and tradition of Italian design with a contemporary language. We collaborate with internationally renowned architects and designers, constantly investing in research and innovation to guarantee products of intrinsic quality, destined to last over time. Sustainability guides each of our projects, from the selection of materials to the entire life cycle of the product, to ensure that the furnishings can be reused or recycled. Some of Molteni&C’s iconic products have been reinterpreted in an outdoor version.

These include the ARC table by Foster + Partners, originally designed for indoor use and later also proposed for outdoor use in a concrete version, and the D.154.2 armchair by Gio Ponti, which maintains its elegance with materials and fabrics suitable for outdoor environments. This approach allows us to create stylistic continuity between indoors and outdoors, offering solutions that are consistent with our design philosophy.
