The legendary Espen Øino is the pen behind REV, a 181.6m research expedition vessel which Rosellinis Four-10 has commissioned the Vard Holdings shipyard of Norway to build. Once launched, REV will replace the 180.61m Azzan as the world’s largest megayacht.
However, she will not be used for pleasure cruising in the conventional sense as her owner intends to do his bit for the planet by playing host to researchers, scientists and environmental organisations aboard to assist them in their research projects. Needless to say, REV herself will be equipped a vast array of leading-edge oceanic research technologies and gear. She was also designed to deliver a record range and very generous stowage space that includes a multipurpose cargo deck. REV will accommodate 36 guests and will be manned by a crew of 54. She splashes in 2020.
