Ferretti Group: the master’s degree in nautical engineering is born

With a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ferretti Group, the University of Bologna and other entities, the new Master’s Degree Course in Nautical Engineering will start in Forlì from the Academic Year 2024-25. It is a much-awaited course because the territories of Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Abruzzo and Puglia are experiencing an important growth process, both industrial and occupational, precisely in the nautical sector. Hence the constant need for professionals with high-profile technical and specialist skills.

Ferretti Group

Ferretti Group among the promoters

Ferretti Group, which has five production sites on the Adriatic, is one of the first promoters of this educational and research initiative, which is an act of commitment and giving back to the community, to increasingly promote the know-how that the territories know how to express in the nautical field. To achieve these objectives, Ferretti Group has chosen to ally itself with a scientific and educational excellence such as that of the University of Bologna: an excellence that is as internationally recognised as it is rooted in the territories to which it belongs.
The Degree Course is the first step towards the establishment of a centre of excellence in Forlì, capable of attracting researchers also from abroad and providing support for the birth and incubation of high-tech start-ups in the nautical sector, thus increasing the attractiveness of the territories and the development of the Blue Economy.

Department of Industrial Engineering

The activities of the Department of Industrial Engineering, in addition to the teaching activity entrusted to internationally recognised personalities, will focus on increasingly advanced research, including that related to hydrodynamics and methodologies for the reduction of hydrodynamic and aerodynamic friction, activities carried out at the CICLoPE international facility in Predappio.
