The Austrian shipyard, accompanied by official Italian dealer Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli, focuses on renewable energy at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival thanks to an extraordinary partnership with Porsche and its unfailing passion for innovation. On display at the French show are Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air, the new version of 1017 GT, 1212 Ghost Air and 1414 Demon.
Innovation and perfection
The new Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air embodies the perfect symbiosis of zero-emission e-drive technology and a sporty lifestyle. On the special collaboration with the sports car manufacturer Stefan Frauscher, Managing Director of the shipyard, commented,
“Frauscher has had a special role in the nautical world for years: on the one hand, we have specialized in electric boats since 1955; on the other hand, Frauscher is renowned for its high-performance powerboats, which perform even in the roughest of waters. As the only boatyard that embraces both worlds, we were the ideal partner for Porsche in developing an electric boat with the power of a powerboat.”
Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air, the first examples of which will be delivered to buyers just this September, will be displayed both on land and in the water. As a result of development work over the past few months, Frauscher and Porsche are extremely proud to have further improved the model’s performance: instead of the 550 Nm torque originally planned, customers now have as much as 700 Nm – in addition to the improved acceleration, the 400 kW propulsion system also enables a top speed of more than 49 knots.
New production area dedicated to electric mobility
Frauscher boats are produced in Ohlsdorf, Austria at one of Europe’s most modern shipyards, whose production area was significantly expanded in 2024, and the upcoming Cannes boat show offers the ideal setting to celebrate this new production capacity.
The yard will use the additional space to focus further on building electric boats, thus sending a clear signal for sustainable mobility on the water. The most emblematic example is precisely the new Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air.
Design that makes innovation tangible
Another highlight of the Cannes lineup is Frauscher 1212 Ghost Air. With its generous spaces, the powerboat redefines the experience on the water, both on deck and inside, while still retaining Frauscher’s unmistakable design-complemented by an on-demand lightweight carbon T-top-and its unparalleled handling. The model has already attracted public and press attention, earning accolades in Genoa (Design Innovation Award) and Berlin (Best of Boats).
Frauscher also reaffirms its design expertise by exhibiting the Frauscher 1017 GT Second generation for the first time in Cannes. The restyling of the most successful powerboat in its class celebrated its world debut earlier this year and is inspired by its larger sister, Frauscher 1414 Demon, combining dynamic lines with side hull vents, large luxurious spaces and breathtaking performance.
The top-of-the-line Frauscher also features a great new feature: the boat is now available with a hydraulic platform that can be lowered to enjoy the sea or raised for easy access to higher docks. Thanks to its stable structure and high load limit, the swim platform can also be used to transport a jet ski.
Frauscher, together with Italian dealer Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli, will be at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 10 to 15 at booth JETEE 015
