Garmin, a global leader in marine electronics, announces the launch of the new quatix® 8, the latest generation smartwatch designed to offer the ultimate in functionality, durability and elegance. Available in 47 mm and 51 mm sizes, the quatix 8 is designed to accompany every type of adventure, whether on a boat or in everyday life.
The new model introduces important new features compared to its predecessors. For the first time, it integrates a speaker and microphone that allow you to manage voice functions, answer calls and communicate with on-board instruments via Bluetooth® commands without having to take your eyes off the navigation.
The bright 1.4-inch AMOLED display, protected by scratch-resistant sapphire glass and framed by a sturdy titanium bezel, ensures perfect readability even in bright sunlight. The new fully waterproof metal buttons provide precise feedback, even during the most intense activities.
Designed to withstand the most extreme conditions, the quatix 8 has been tested to military standards for shock and temperature resistance. The new integrated LED torch, with white and red light, is useful both on board and on land, especially in low light conditions.
But the real revolution is for diving enthusiasts: with new features for dives up to 40 metres, protected sensors and watertight buttons, the quatix 8 is a fully-fledged dive computer, providing detailed data on descent, ascent, decompression times and much more.
The watch connects intuitively to Garmin chartplotters, allowing you to manage the autopilot, save waypoints, receive real-time information on course, depth, speed and wind, and access advanced racing tools such as start line position, race timers and alerts for tide changes or anchor drag.
When connected to a compatible smartphone, quatix 8 also lets you make and receive calls right from your wrist, interact with your phone’s voice assistant and control devices such as Garmin electric motors or Fusion® audio systems.
Another strong point is its battery life: the 47 mm model lasts up to 16 days on a single charge, while the 51 mm version guarantees up to 29 days of use, making it a reliable companion even on the longest voyages.
The new quatix 8 is now available to the public at a recommended retail price of £1,099.99 including VAT for the 47 mm version and £1,199.99 including VAT for the 51 mm version.
