Custom Line Navetta 38. A project is the synthesis of different languages. There is the design theme that is central. However, without forgetting also the importance of the architectural and the more technical components. In a nutshell, it is a journey on several levels.
However, when a pleasure boat is involved, that is when the degree of complexity achieved crosses new boundaries. Yes, because what makes a project that was created to live and move on water special, and perhaps unique, is the constant research work whose ultimate goal is to keep alive and constant a dialogue that is articulated on several levels: interior design with exterior design and exterior design with the external environment. These are the coordinates that defined the lines along which the design of Custom Line‘s latest addition was articulated: the Navetta 38. A
choral work, a multi-handed score that, thanks also to the invaluable contribution of the Strategic Product Department headed by Eng. Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, has led to the definition of a new ship concept. In the first installment of this series of three in-depth features dedicated to the new model, we brought into focus the theme of interior design. Signed by the architectural firm ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel it stood out for the great research work also oriented to enhance as much as possible the connection with the surrounding environment. The way in which each space was conceived highlights solutions that sought to put the theme of quality of life on board at the center.
A quality that cannot but transcend the importance of always keeping alive and constant the presence, sometimes discreetly other times more markedly, of the marine element in the various moments of the day. This was the starting point from which the work of Filippo Salvetti, who is credited with the design of the exterior lines, developed. The project rests on the experience gained with the Navetta Custom Line 30, a specimen that inaugurated the collaboration between the designer from Brescia and the Ferretti Group brand, as well as on the feedback received on the Navetta Custom Line 37 of which the new unit picks up the baton.
A completely new project that, while keeping the distinctive features of the range alive on an aesthetic level, introduces a new lexicon in terms of style for the exteriors as well. The real bet, which was won, was to combine the need for large volumes without compromising elegance. The exterior design is characterized by a design language under the banner of a timeless classicism: simple, harmonious lines that with elegance and refinement express the ultimate in luxury. A synthesis of nautical tradition and sophistication, Custom Line Navetta 38 combines form and functionality in every detail. The lines and forms are essential and clean, with sculptural surface workmanship that lends character, contemporaneity and strength to the design, without compromising its elegance and harmonious style.
“The simplicity of the lines remains the main key and is an expression of never ostentatious luxury and stylistically very refined contemporary design. Custom Line Navetta 38 is designed to give the owner a unique experience at sea, with large windows and openings that enhance the harmony between interior and exterior, creating an unprecedented continuity of space. In addition, while remaining true to nautical traditions, this yacht offers innovative solutions for on-board livability,” commented Filippo Salvetti.
It is important to emphasize how the design is distinguished by the presence of horizontal lines solution that, at a visual reading, allowed to give a touch of elegance, dynamism and sportiness to the profile while also making it very distinctive. A boat, as one would say, with a strong character. A vocation the latter emphasized by the inclination of the stern powers that, combined with the surface treatment of the bridge wing at the bow and the “legs” of the rollbar on the highest point, generate a visual triangulation that enhances the concept of the ship’s grandeur, from whatever point you look at it. “A central element of the design,” Salvetti continues, ”is the presence and use of large glass surfaces on all decks, including the area that distinguishes the bridge.”
The design of the windows themselves has been conceived in a very clean and linear way so as to offer, on an aesthetic level, easy and immediate reading. In detail, the glazing of the forward owner’s area features a whisker at the forward end that makes the profile even more slender and dynamic. The new Custom Line Navetta 38 is to all intents and purposes a candidate to become a new benchmark in the world of yacht design at a time in the market when demands are moving in the direction of having increasingly generous spaces on board.
An arduous task from a design point of view, but one that Custom Line has been able to accomplish through a range in which simplicity of form, combined with well-designed volumes, can give the object or work a harmony that evokes a sense of natural, timeless beauty. Just like the Custom Line Navetta 38.
