Fifteen units sold in seven years. The numbers of the Custom Line Navetta 37 speak for themselves and fix in the brand’s history a success and approval that have left an indelible mark. A factor of fundamental importance in tracing the perimeter within which the project of the new Custom Line Navetta 38, which picks up the legacy of this glorious model, started.
A long reasoned path that took into account the creative and technical contribution of the Strategic Product Department chaired by Eng. Piero Ferrari and the Engineering Department of Ferretti Group to which was added the contribution of the Custom Line Atelier and the decisive support of architect Filippo Salvetti, who oversaw the design of the exterior lines and the ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel architectural firm to which was entrusted the interior design.
For the new unit, of course, the opinion provided by the owners of the Custom Line Navetta 37 counted a lot, and to limit the reasoning to a simple evolution in terms of model is reductive. The Custom Line Navetta 38 is, to all intents and purposes, a completely new design, starting with the way in which the interior spaces have been thought out and conceived.
Custom Line Navetta 38: the interior design
After the Custom Line Navetta 30 and the Custom Line 50, the ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel architecture studio adds a new chapter to its collaboration with the Ferretti Group brand with the Custom Line Navetta 38. At the executive level, the guideline around which the design path was developed was to celebrate materials in their purest form, to reduce architectural gestures to the essential.
On this front, unlike what happened on the Custom Line Navetta 30, for the latest Custom Line, a recurring theme was the use of a neutral background in terms of color palette. Another distinctive element of the interior design was the desire to bring to the fore the very essence of the materials without any filter. This applies to leather, teak, oak and also to all those textile elements such as, for example, the raffia present on the walls.
The idea behind this choice was to return above all a tactile experience and not only a visual one. Among the most identifying features of Custom Line Navetta 38 is definitely the oak ceiling. Made with a millerighe structure, it not only gives a three-dimensional effect but also establishes a dialogue with the floor also made of oak.
This choice was dictated by the need to create a very warm atmosphere in a ship in which the presence of the glazing is very much felt and where the relationship between the hull and the interior envelope always remains central and constant. The most important aspect of this interior design project is the nautical and naval component which, as such, must take into account the element in which it is located, namely the sea.
It is not an apartment, but a ship moving on the water
It is not an apartment on the water but a ship moving on the water. To guide the design path establish a constant and enduring relationship between the interior and exterior environment. The layout of the main deck maintains a traditional feel in which the design of a B&B Italia Maxalto sofa accompanies the interior profile of this space in which the presence of the surrounding environment is felt thanks to the large windows. Hence the choice to employ furniture complements raised from the ground in order to give a feeling of great lightness.
Another key theme is flexibility in terms of space use. Continuity that is found in the upper deck characterized by a single environment with lounge, dining and sundeck areas to mark a path inserted within what can be defined as a glass container. Other details that make the difference, for example, the use of leather combined with the presence of stitching the latter element that recalls the theme of suitcases and thus once again reinforces the experience and the atmospheres related to the theme of travel that, this is the case, a ship allows to live.
Here, then, the concept of architecture in motion comes to the fore again. Not only the relationship with the marine element but also the theme of continuity between individual spaces not only in a horizontal line but also between one bridge and another has been the subject of a long research work. It is therefore no coincidence that the large aft beach area is presented as a natural extension of the main deck cockpit. A bond that is found between the sun deck present on the highest deck a space the latter also designed to be in close connection with the aft part of the upper deck. Dominating the bow is the large open-air lounge area designed as a flexible space so it can be configured as needed.
Custom Line Navetta 38 and sustainability
Then there is the issue of sustainability, which has also been addressed by focusing on the use of materials that are all certified in their origin and manufacturing processes. Just as the criterion of choice took into account their longevity and ability to be easily managed in terms of maintenance. “When a Navetta is born, it is born to exceed expectations,” commented Avv. Alberto Galassi, CEO of Ferretti Group. “We achieve this goal,” continued Avv. Galassi, by relying on talents who create new and wonderful balances between form and function.
And here, proposed and realized, are unprecedented canons of elegance, fluidity of space and absolute comfort. In the case of Custom Line Navetta 38, the added value comes from architect Filippo Salvetti and ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel architectural firm. Thanks to their ideas, their work, it is possible to experience the sea with an absolute intensity, surrounded by style and beauty. The time spent sailing with Custom Line Navetta 38 or stopping at sea and in port is an experience of harmony and pleasure that has no equal.”
