Pisa Circle un nuovo modo di scandire il tempo del mare

Sailing with Pisa Circle. To sail. In how many ways can this verb be declined? At first sight many. In fact, come to think of it, there is no real limit. It would be like trying to hold back water with your hands. Of fixing physical barriers to the liquid boundaries of the ocean.

Of caging the imagination. When the sea is there, the perception of space dilates infinitely There it is, the sea. A word that, with the verb to sail, is inextricably linked. But there are many ways of sailing. One navigates on board a boat, or with the imagination, or again, in the boundless sea of the web. (Here all our post about Pisa Orologeria)

Pisa Circle, a digital showcase

And this is where Pisa Circle comes in. The initiative promoted by Pisa Orologeria is proposed as a true digital showcase, thanks to which it is possible to view at any time, and with any device, a selection of 2,000 available products from over 30 jewellery, accessories and haute horlogerie brands.

Pisa Circle, online or in person

All it takes is a click to satisfy one’s thirst for knowledge or to make an appointment directly in the Pisa Orologeria flagship store in Via Verri 7 in Milan. A safe landing place for those who nurture a great passion for watchmaking and, above all, a precious compass to orient themselves in the boundless sea of proposals that boast a strong link with the sixth continent. This is no coincidence.

It is precisely the marine element that has always represented an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the world of hands.

From marine chronometers, conceived in the 18th century to determine longitude information of crucial importance in the struggle for supremacy of maritime traffic, to watches designed to conquer the abyss, the sixth continent for the time industry has always been, and still is, an extraordinary test bed and research laboratory for experimenting with avant-garde solutions and developing new materials.

A race for innovation that has never stopped and that has driven watch manufacturers to develop ever more high-performance and attractive time machines.

Even, we would add, in the Pisa Circle showcase.

Rolex Yacht Master 42

We gonna start with Rolex itself, which, for 2022, wanted to give even more vigour and substance to its link with the world of sailing by presenting the new Yacht Master 42 in an exclusive yellow gold version, the metal from which the 42 mm case is made  (https://www.pisaorologeria.com/it/rolex/ ).

Pisa Circle: Ulysse Nardin in full swing

Sailing remains an indispensable source of inspiration for Uylsse Nardin. The Le Locle-based company, among other things, is the official timekeeper of the Ocean Race, the round-the-world sailing race in stages that will start in January 2023 from Alicante in a revamped version and end in Genoa in the second half of the year.

Among the proposals of Pisa Circle related to this brand, the https://www.pisaorologeria.com/it/product_circle/tag-heuer-1183-170le-93-nemo-diver-x-44-mm/ Diver X Nemo stands out.

Produced in a limited series of 300 examples, it is named after Nemo Point, in the South Pacific off the coast of Chile, named after the mythical captain created by the pen of Jules Verne.

Closer to the International Space Station than to land, Nemo Point has coordinates 48°52.6′S 123°23.6′W, the furthest point in the ocean from any coastline. From the surface of the sea to the depths of the sea, the step is short. This is an area that has always been an extraordinary testing ground for the watch industry to develop new technical solutions.

Pisa Circle: diving with Blancpain

Blancpain knows something about this, whose vocation for the abyss culminates in a successful collection bearing the name Fifty Fathoms. The latest novelty, in order of time, is the Batyscaphe proposed in a titanium version. Available on the Pisa Circle   https://www.pisaorologeria.com/it/product_circle/blancpain-050000o012010ng52a-fifty-fathoms-bathyscaphe/ it is water-resistant to 300 metres. With a diameter of 43 mm, the case of the new Bathyscaphe is made of grade 23 satin-finished titanium. Rarely used in watchmaking, this grade of titanium requires a very precise machining process.

The anthracite-coloured dial of the watch features a hand-crafted vertical satin finish, giving the timepiece a matt effect with a modern look. It is highlighted by the baton hands and luminescent geometric hour markers traditional to Bathyscaphe models, as well as a satin-finished titanium bezel fitted with a ceramic insert and a Liquidmetal time scale.

Tudor and the ceramic Black Bay

From titanium to ceramic. This is the absolute star of a new reference that points straight to the sea. It was conceived by Tudor, which wanted to extend its offer by presenting the Black Bay Ceramic. Available on Pisa Cricle   https://www.pisaorologeria.com/it/tudor/modello/?rmc=M79210CNU-0001 is distinguished by its 41mm case in matt black ceramic.

Housed inside is the MT5602-1U manufacture movement that regulates the hours, minutes and seconds functions. The timepiece is water-resistant to a depth of 200 metres and comes with a hybrid leather and rubber strap.

Panerai and the new Submersible QuarantaQuattro

Black remains the dominant tonality of one of the novelties presented by Panerai on the occasion of Watches & Wonders 2022 and now also present among the proposals of Pisa Circle https://www.pisaorologeria.com/it/product_circle/panerai-pam01229-submersible-quarantaquattro/ The new Submersible QuarantaQuattro collection is declined in a version characterised by a steel case and a black dial on which the date window at 3 o’clock and the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock stand out. The functions of this timepiece are governed by the calibre P.900 self-winding movement with a 72-hour power reserve. Another iconic watch collection is linked to the sea.

Pisa Circle and the legend named Longines

This is the Longines Legend Diver Watch which, as its name suggests, originates from one of the first diver’s timepieces conceived by the House of the Winged Hourglass, the Super-Compressor of 1959. Today, the Legend Diver Watch family welcomes the arrival of a new version (available from Pisa Circle https://www.pisaorologeria.com/it/product_circle/longines-l37744702-legend-diver-42-mm/ )

featuring a 42mm case with a shaded ash grey dial on which luminous hands, hour markers interspersed with luminescent squares and Arabic numerals with rectangles coated with Super-LumiNova stand out.

Like the original model, the 42 mm-diameter case back features a relief-printed figure of a diver. The NATO-type fabric strap matches the colour of the dial. This new model houses a self-winding mechanical movement with silicon balance spring and comes with a five-year warranty.

Eberhard & Co. and a glorious maritime history

Pisa Circle and sea time for Breitling

The sea for Breitling takes on the contours of the Superocean Héritage II, a highly successful collection judging by the acclaim it has received since its launch. The range also includes a reference in a chronograph version available as part of the Pisa Circle  https://www.pisaorologeria.com/it/product_circle/breitling-a13313161c1s1-superocean-heritage-chronograph-44/.

The 44mm case is in steel and features a dial in a refined shade of sea blue on which the three chronograph counters stand out. The timepiece’s functions are regulated by Breitling Calibre 13.

Piaget in the sign of blue

And blue is back in the limelight again this time with Piaget, which has chosen this colour to characterise the two chronograph counters of the Polo S Chrono Blue Panda. In a limited edition and available on Pisa Circle  https://www.pisaorologeria.com/it/product_circle/piaget-g0a46013-polo-chronograph/ , the timepiece is distinguished by its silver-toned and guilloché-engraved dial.

Glashutte Original

If it is not the colour, the name alone is enough to evoke atmospheres that smell of the sea. A path followed by Glashutte Original, which, with its SeaQ collection, wanted to pay homage to the sixth continent. Among the must-haves is the SeaQ Panorama Date

(disponibile su Pisa Circle https://www.pisaorologeria.com/it/product_circle/glashutte-13613078334-spazialist-seaq-panorama-date/) with a 43.2 mm steel case, green dial, ceramic bezel and fabric bracelet.
