How many different meanings can be attributed to the word “sea”? They are as infinite as the different shades of colour to be found in it. But some people have even gone even further.
The Italian manufacture Locman, which has its headquarters on the Isle of Elba, has called its latest collection “Mare” (Sea). In doing so, it has endeavoured to provide a shape but also content for this vast expanse of water.
The “Mare” collection comes in time-only and chronograph versions. The latter has a sunburst or carbon-fibre enamelled dial, a tachymeter scale, and a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. The 24-hour counter and minute counter are located at 3 and 9 o’clock respectively, while the continuous seconds counter is at 6 o’clock.
The 44m case, which is resistant at up to 100 metres, is made of 316L grade stainless steel and has a strap made of a special silicone compound. The back is in titanium.
