Teamwork. This is the founding principle on which the Associazione Marche Yachting & Cruising (MYC) was founded. Established last year, it has now become a reality that brings together under a single umbrella the most important industries in the Marche region involved in what can be defined as the marine industry.
The initiative, promoted with the support of the Marche Region and the Marche Chamber of Commerce, reaffirms the strategic role that shipbuilding and, more specifically, the nautical sector and its supply chain, play for the entire region. A glance at the list of companies present shows the scope and ambitions of the Association. They include the likes of CRN Ferretti Group, ISA/Palumbo Superyachts, Cantiere delle Marche, Wider, CPN and Cantiere Rossini (Lisa Group), FM Architettura di Interni, LP Luxury Projects, and Massari Design. Design and furnishing names such as Poltrona Frau and Cantori will also be there, while component manufacturers will include Team Italia, AMS Advanced Mechanical Solutions, SailADV, Corset/Linset, Furlanetto International, Marine Shore Assistance, and Videoworks.

There will also be space for education and training, a role covered by the presence of the Marche Polytechnic University. This is no coincidence. Education has played a central role in creating an entrepreneurial class that has enabled this region to become a reference model over the decades. It is also no coincidence that the architect of what was later recognised as the ‘Marche model’ was a person of the calibre of Giorgio Fuà who, among his many merits, was also responsible for setting up the Marche Polytechnic. Yes, the Marche. It is the only region in the plural in the geography of Italy, as if to revive the innate ability of this territory to give its best on many fronts.
These include, above all, the nautical sector, whose roots have found fertile ground here. Starting with Cantiere delle Marche, which has not only had the merit of creating a trendy phenomenon such as explorer yachts, but in just 12 years of activity has become a world leader in this market niche. Not to mention shipyards such as CRN, a brand of the Ferretti Group, ISA, a shipyard of the Palumbo Superyachts division, and Wider, whose contribution has enabled Italian shipyards to become world leaders in the superyacht sector. However, the Made in Marche label also includes the creativity and flair of designers such as FM Architettura d’Interni, LP Luxury Project and Massari Design, who have put their signature on many large yacht projects. Then there is innovation, an area in which hi-tech creations stand out, such as the control panels by Team Italia or the home automation, audio/video and entertainment systems by Videoworks. Last but not least, Cantiere Rossini is gaining an increasingly important role in the refit sector.
The official debut of Marche Yachting & Cruising will take place on the occasion of EXPO Dubai. On the one hand, this choice aims at benefiting from the great visibility guaranteed by this important showcase; on the other hand, it wants to underline the importance of international markets. This is a game in which the Marche cluster undoubtedly plays its best cards. Not to mention that this very geographical area is currently considered an essential reference point for the boating industry, as confirmed by the importance acquired over the years by the Dubai Yacht Show. At an institutional level, the Association will be inaugurated on 21st February, on the opening day of the Marche region week at Expo Dubai, with speeches by the Vice President of the Marche Region, Mirco Carloni, and the President of Tecne Azienda Speciale della Camera di Commercio delle Marche, Moreno Bordoni. This is the first official step for a company destined to bring prestige to Italian excellence and even more so to the Made in Marche.
