Marina di Varazze Kicks Off the Summer with the Summer Fest

Summer at D-Marin | Marina di Varazze is gearing up to get into full swing with a calendar of events designed to guide guests and visitors through an exciting season filled with music, fun, and entertainment that will satisfy the whole family—starting with the little ones: young people, in particular, will be the focus of special attention.

The music program, now a much-anticipated summer tradition in Varazze, features four events with top-notch bands and artists, along with plenty of live dance music—a firm favorite among the audience. The big new feature this year will be cinema under the stars: a series of six open-air screenings selected to appeal to a broad and diverse audience, including comedies, animated films, and classic movies that resonate with multiple generations.

The program will kick off on Saturday, June 27, at 6:30 p.m. with “AperinBlues e dintorni”, a live music format that will liven up the Marina thanks to three performance stages set up in the style of a Buskers Festival: the Kayman Blues Stars will perform rhythm and blues and international hits; the Mojo Ramblers will focus on a ’70s rock repertoire; and, for the first time, there will be a space for children where they can have fun dancing to the baby dance beat and be entertained by experienced face-painters and balloon sculptors. A truly spectacular start to the season that will transform the Marina into a colorful open-air stage, where music will accompany visitors from stroll time through dinner: spending time along the waterfront will be a moment of pure pleasure. Continuing the evening late into the night while sipping a cocktail at one of the Marina’s many bars and restaurants will be an almost natural choice.

Wednesday, July 1, at 9:00 p.m. the “movie” nights will kick off with the first open-air cinema screening near the Marina Management Offices area. “Come un gatto in tangenziale” will open the series. The series will continue on subsequent Wednesdays with films that blend lightheartedness, clever humor, fantasy, and animation: “Monster University” on July 15, “Inside Out” on July 29, “Alice in Wonderland” on August 5, “The Intouchables” on August 12, and “Finding Dory” on August 26.

Energy will be at its peak for the two musical events, which will offer a true plunge into the heart of summer. Live dancewill take center stage again on Saturday, July 11, at 9:30 p.m. with iPop – Pop Latin Dance Show, a band that will engage audiences of all ages with the infectious beats of dance music , and, Saturday, July 25, also at 9:30 p.m., with the irresistible The Funky Machine—a return by popular demand for this group already well-known and beloved by the people of Marina di Varazze. Two evenings of incredible rhythm, sure to send the temperature soaring during Varazze’s summer nights.

The music calendar will conclude on Saturday, August 22, at 6:30 p.m. with a new installment of “AperinBlues e dintorni”, once again spread across three venues within the Marina. The program features a tribute to Pino Daniele with Alleria Project, along with performances by the Lorenzo Zambini Duo and the Alex Eli Duo, in an evening that blends Mediterranean influences, blues, singer-songwriter music, and acoustic sounds.

On August 29, finally, an evening dedicated to the history of Varazze’s boating industry as part of the “Sinestesie” festival organized by the Municipality of Varazze. During this event, industry leaders will trace the history of the Baglietto shipyards up to the present day; discussions will also focus on innovation, technology, and “made in Liguria” sustainability in the nautical sector, all accompanied by improvisations from Riccardo Zegna’s Jazz Band.

Marina di Varazze isn’t just lively in the evening. Throughout the summer, on the first weekend of every month, strolling along the waterfront and shopping will be even more enjoyable as you browse the stalls at the artisan markets. The dates: July 4–5, August 1–2, September 5–6.

As a reminder, the Summer Fest is complemented by all the events organized by the various venues and businesses located in the Marina.
