Michael Jordan has chosen Greece to kick off her summer, landing in Mykonos in a vehicle that certainly does not go unnoticed. The former NBA star was spotted in the waters of the Cyclades while enjoying a few days of relaxation on the M’BRACE, his massive 75-meter superyacht, accompanied by a retinue of about 25 people.
Anchored in front of the island’s most celebrated beaches, Jordan was seen several times on the main deck, soaking in the tranquility of the sunset and away from the spotlight.
Jordan M’BRACE: An giant of the sea
Built in 2018 by the prestigious German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen, the M’BRACE – originally born under the name Elandess – is considered one of the most spectacular superyachts currently sailing in the Mediterranean. Her line is dominated by the distinctive Atlantic Bow, a sleek bow that enhances stability and comfort, while the exteriors bear the signature of Eidsgaard Design.
The M’BRACE is a concentration of luxury spread over 75 meters, designed to offer a sailing experience that more closely resembles that of a private resort than that of a traditional yacht. On board there is room for eight booths, designed to accommodate up to twelve people in an environment that alternates between contemporary design and absolute comfort. Ensuring impeccable service is a crew of twenty-four members, operating as a perfectly synchronized machine.
Leisure spaces are one of the vessel’s distinguishing features. The upper deck houses a panoramic swimming pool, while inside are a fully equipped gymnasium, a private cinema, a jacuzzi and even a nightclub designed for lively evenings away from prying eyes. There is no shortage of an area dedicated to sports, with a small basketball court which inevitably recalls the personal history of its owner.
One of the most striking environments is the underwater lounge, a room positioned below the waterline and equipped with large panoramic windows that allow viewing the sea from an unusual, almost immersive perspective. Rounding out the picture is a vast array of water toys, from jet skis to diving and water sports equipment, designed to take advantage of every moment at sea.
The estimated value is around 100 million euros, while construction costs would have exceeded 90 million. Annual operating expenses, as for any yacht in this category, are around the 10 million dollars.
Jordan M’BRACE: performance and features
The M’BRACE is not just an exercise in style: beneath the surface lies impressive mechanics. Two Caterpillar diesel engines guarantee a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of 12, supported by a steel hull and aluminum superstructure designed to tackle long crossings with maximum stability.
The superyacht was initially purchased by British entrepreneur Lloyd Dorfman for about 87 million pounds. In December 2022, according to industry sources, ownership would pass to Michael Jordan, who has been using it as a base for his Mediterranean vacations ever since.
The presence of the M’BRACE in the waters of the Aegean has not gone unnoticed: the silhouette of the yacht, often lit up at sunset, has become one of the most photographed subjects for tourists on the island. Jordan, on the other hand, has maintained a discreet profile, limiting himself to enjoying the sea and life on board, far from the clamor but always surrounded by the aura of legend that accompanies it.
