Milky Way on stage in Amsterdam. Long 89 meters, with a width of 13.4 meters and a draft of 3.7, this new Feadship seems built to glide smoothly across the water, like a luminous trail in the night from which it takes its name. Its volume of 2,625 GT gives it a commanding presence without ever being imposing: it is a yacht that occupies the space with elegance.
The project, sold in 2023 and developed under the name Project 828, stems from the desire to create a vessel capable of adapting to a variety of uses without compromising its aesthetic integrity. For this reason, Feadship chose a structure made of steel combined with an aluminum superstructure aluminum, a combination that ensures strength and lightness, while two MTU provide the power needed to move a giant of this size with surprising ease.
Milky Way – The Outlines
The first thing that catches the eye is the bow: long, vertical, almost sculpted. As he explained Matt Bacon, Lead Designer at Studio De Voogt: “We have refined the design with a very pronounced vertical bow and an emphasis on the long structural lines of the decks. The mast has a very strong presence to balance the volumes of the superstructure. “
This design choice visually elongates the silhouette and frees up valuable space on the decks, transforming the exterior into a continuous sequence of terraces and lounge areas.
Milky Way – The Interiors
While the exterior is defined by taut, vertical lines, inside, RWD has taken a completely different approach, with interiors that exude a sense of softness. The shapes are rounded, the transitions fluid, the geometries almost organic. The goal was to create a coherent spatial experience, where each space flows seamlessly into the next without abrupt changes in rhythm.

The design
The launch is just the latest chapter in a story that began years ago. In May 2025, the hull had already left the NMC shipyard in Nieuw-Lekkerland, marking the project’s first real “sighting.” Since then, Milky Way has gone through all the typical phases of a Feadship: meticulous design, impeccable construction, and almost obsessive attention to detail.
Milky Way has earned its place in the global ranking of the largest yachts, coming in at 134th place. In the history of Feadship, however, it represents the The 18th largest yacht ever built.
