‘The imagination of Orient Express is limitless, a universe of dreams, discoveries, encounters, movement and emotions. With Orient Express Corinthian, the legend of Orient Express is now preparing to sail the world’s most beautiful seas to offer a unique experience of travel and discovery.
A yacht inspired by the golden age of luxury cruising, it reinvents the way of experiencing the sea and is designed to meet future sustainability challenges. A source of pride for all of us,’ commented Sébastien Bazin, President and CEO of Accor. With elegant lines and cutting-edge technology, Orient Express Corinthian is preparing to become the world’s largest sailing yacht. Under construction at the famous Chantiers de l’Atlantique, this new-generation sailing yacht will be 220 metres long and will have an impressive sail area of 4500 square metres spread over three canting masts, capable of propelling the vessel up to a speed of 17 knots using only the force of the wind.
The interior design, by architect Maxime d’Angeac, artistic director of Orient Express, reflects a refined and timeless vision. The interior spaces recall the golden age of Orient Express, blending innovation and comfort in a unique style that honours the prestige of this iconic brand. ‘All suites have been imagined as unique spaces that break the classic decorative grammar of Orient Express while remaining true to its distinctive codes,’ says Maxime d’Angeac. ‘A contemporary vision of Orient Express, that of an era in which high quality is synonymous with excellence and invokes a true aesthetic revolution’.
Thanks to the craftsmanship of French goldsmiths, silversmiths and artisans, coupled with the technical excellence of engineers from one of the world’s most renowned shipyards, Orient Express Corinthian promises unprecedented cruises to discover the land by sea and enjoy authentic experiences around iconic destinations and ports of call.
On board, guests will be offered a variety of solutions starting with the 54 suites, ranging in size from 45 to 230 square metres, designed to guarantee maximum privacy and well-being. A further 48 suites will be distributed on decks 4, 5 and 6, while six exclusive suites will occupy deck 7. Each suite will feature large panoramic windows, true ‘cocoons’ opening onto the sea, designed for relaxation and contemplation. Wood, leather and marble will embellish each room, carefully crafted by highly skilled artisans.
To satisfy the demands of the most discerning palates, there will be five refined restaurants inside the ship, each characterised by its own offerings. Eight bars, including a speakeasy inspired by the 1930s, a 115-seat cabaret with Parisian atmospheres and Art Deco accents, a cinema room, a recording studio and a spa will complete the on-board offer.
Among the unmissable experiences, there is certainly the marina: located at the stern, it will be the ideal place for dinners and nautical activities in direct contact with the sea, while the 16.60-metre swimming pool on deck 6 will offer an oasis of relaxation for the most demanding guests.
140 years after the debut of the first luxury trains and a century after the launch of the legendary liner Normandie, Orient Express Corinthian writes a new chapter in the brand’s history, adding a marine dimension to the theme of travel with unparalleled style and innovation.
