From 12 to 26 October 2026, Orient Express Corinthian will cross the Atlantic from Lisbon to Bridgetown, with a stop in Ponta Delgada in the Azores. During the fourteen-night voyage, the sailing yacht will host Ocean Rebirth, the wellness retreat created through a collaboration between Orient Express Sailing Yachts and Guerlain, which already has its own Spa on board.
For much of the journey, there will be no ports, excursions or constantly changing destinations to set the pace of each day. Instead, there will be the sea, the rhythm of sailing and the time needed to follow a programme built around nutrition, movement, mindfulness and rest. The duration of the crossing becomes one of the central elements of the project: wellness is not confined to a single treatment, but gradually becomes part of everyday life on board.
Fourteen nights to find a different rhythm
Ocean Rebirth will begin with an individual assessment. From there, the programme will be adapted to each guest’s needs and refined throughout the journey through personal consultations, small-group workshops and guided sessions.
The time spent crossing the Atlantic allows the different activities to follow one another with continuity. Breathwork and meditation, sound baths with crystal singing bowls, mobility exercises, deep-tissue massages and Guerlain treatments will alternate throughout the day. Five specialists will accompany guests during the voyage, focusing on different but interconnected aspects of wellbeing, from movement and recovery to sleep quality.
The aim is also to provide guests with practices they can continue after leaving the yacht. Time with the experts will help each participant identify techniques and habits suited to their individual needs, which can then be incorporated into everyday life.
Wellness beyond the Spa
The collaboration with Guerlain begins with the Spa already present aboard Orient Express Corinthian, but Ocean Rebirth extends the idea of wellness across different moments of the day. The programme will be coordinated by Amélie Demange, International Director of Aesthetic Expertise and Wellness Experiences Creation for Guerlain Spa. She will conduct the initial wellness assessment for each guest and work alongside the other specialists on board.
The programme also includes LongeviSkin, Guerlain’s device combining seven aesthetic technologies, including LED, plasma and radiofrequency. This is complemented by a longevity consultation and the use of Theragun devices for recovery and regeneration.
Movement will be overseen by Charles Ferreux, with personalised sessions focusing on mobility and strengthening, while Slav Marinov will concentrate on recovery through sports and deep-tissue massage. Annabelle Deridder, meanwhile, will bring Guerlain’s expertise in treatments, facial techniques and holistic beauty on board.
The programme continues at the table
The same approach extends to the culinary experience. The menu has been developed by Yannick Alléno together with Guerlain and nutrition and longevity specialist Déborah Passuti, who will be present during the crossing. Guests will be able to choose between three options: Timeless Glow, Pure Reset and Vitality Boost, within a programme that also includes a Longevity Breakfast, individual consultations and masterclasses dedicated to regenerative nutrition.
Honey, a symbolic ingredient for Guerlain, will also feature in some of the sessions. Food therefore becomes part of the same programme followed throughout the rest of the day, coordinated with the other wellness activities rather than treated as a separate element.
Crossing the Atlantic aboard Corinthian
The yacht chosen for Ocean Rebirth also plays a specific role. Orient Express Corinthian, designed by architect and Artistic Director Maxime d’Angeac, is the first of two sailing yachts developed by Orient Express Sailing Yachts. Corinthian uses SolidSail technology and features three tilting masts rising more than 100 metres above the water. Together, they carry 1,500 square metres of sail area which, according to Orient Express, can provide up to 100% of the yacht’s propulsion under favourable wind and weather conditions.
During Ocean Rebirth, this sailing system will be experienced in a particularly fitting setting. Corinthian will spend most of the fourteen nights at sea, following a route from the European coast to the Azores and then across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. Guests can complete the entire crossing or choose just one section of the journey: Lisbon-Ponta Delgada, from 12 to 15 October, or Ponta Delgada-Bridgetown, from 15 to 26 October.
From the Caribbean back to Europe in spring 2027
Ocean Rebirth will also have a return journey. From 13 to 27 March 2027, Orient Express Corinthian will sail from Bridgetown to Lisbon, stopping for two days in Ponta Delgada. Once again, guests will be able to experience the entire crossing or choose between the Bridgetown–Ponta Delgada and Ponta Delgada–Lisbon legs.
The collaboration between Orient Express Sailing Yachts and Guerlain therefore uses an ocean crossing as an integral part of the programme. For fourteen nights, the time normally required to cross the Atlantic becomes an opportunity to slow down, follow a personalised programme and experience Corinthian in a way that differs from a cruise shaped by frequent stops ashore.
