Gipsy, the first unit in the Ligurian shipyard’s aluminum Otam Custom Range, has won a World Superyacht Award in the “Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts 34m to 39.9m” category on Saturday May 13th during the ceremony held in Florence, Italy.
This result follows last February’s win in the Design Awards 2017 in the category “Best naval architecture 2017”.

The judges at The World Superyacht Awards 2017 have awarded the SD 35m M/Y Gipsy in the Semi-Displacement or Planing Motor Yachts 34m to 39.9m category. Among their motivations the clean lines and the optimization of exterior space stand out. The judges also evidenced “the modern style of the interiors, perfectly integrated with her exterior lines”.
At the same time the yacht was also commended for her ability to reach a speed of 20 knots and cruise with a range of 2,000 miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots. The yard from Genoa has managed to unite efficient hydrodynamics with elegant lines, with special attention paid to performance, sea-kindliness, range and fuel efficiency.

The yard is extremely proud to receive this award as recognition not only for the yacht itself, but for the incredible passion and effort exhibited by the yard since its beginning in 1954.
