Outdoor at Sea: Ethimo

Fifth episode of Outdoor at Sea. Today it’s Ethimo’s turn.

«At the Salone del Mobile we presented numerous new products, the result of collaborations and Ethimo’s continuous research in the outdoor world. Among the new collections, we have Seeds by Cristina Celestino and the Tama coffee tables by Valerio Sommella, alongside new design developments with Christophe Pillet, such as the Lodge lounge collection and the concept of the exhibition space. The common thread running through all the new products is the idea of outdoor living as a total sensory experience, in which design, nature and lifestyle blend harmoniously», explain Francesca Confidati and Gian Paolo Migliaccio, brand identity manager and CEO of Ethimo.

Another important area of development is the nautical sector. The passion for the outdoor living finds a natural extension in the design of furnishings for yachts and cruise ships. Ethimo’s nautical concept stems from the desire to transfer the quality and know-how of its furnishings to marine contexts, maintaining the perfect balance between aesthetics and technical performance. The nautical environment presents specific challenges to which Ethimo responds with high-performance materials, able to guarantee resistance and comfort without compromise.

The Yacht Collection reinforces the brand’s position in the high-end outdoor sector, thanks also to the collaboration with leading shipyards and the ability to offer customised solutions. Open spaces are now a natural extension of the home and its architecture, leading to an increasing focus on the choice of furnishings, which must combine aesthetics, functionality and durability. Flexibility is one of the most requested characteristics: modular and sectional furniture allows you to customise the space and adapt it to ever-changing needs. Ethimo responds to this trend with versatile solutions, designed for dynamic and intuitive use.

Ethimo’s added value in the outdoor sector is based on three pillars: the use of high quality materials, aesthetic research and a commitment to sustainability. The aim is to create furniture that is not only beautiful, but also durable and comfortable. Teak, the protagonist of many collections, is FSC certified, while metals are treated with low environmental impact paints. Constant experimentation with finishes and materials – from marble to lava stone, to terracotta – enhances the materiality and authenticity of the products. The result is a conscious outdoor, the result of a perfect balance between craftsmanship and innovation.

The dialogue between indoors and outdoors is increasingly central to the world of design. Ethimo develops solutions that create a fluid continuity between environments, maintaining the comfort, cosiness and ergonomics typical of indoor spaces. Even the finishes and materials are chosen to harmonise with the interior, to make the transition between spaces natural and harmonious. The brand’s philosophy is clear: outdoor design must be an integral part of the home, improving quality of life and ensuring well-being in every season.
