Royal Huisman were asked by a well-heeled Asian owner to build him the boat of his dreams and heeded his plea with great dedication.
The result is this 81-metre, one of the 10 largest yachts in the world. Built from aluminium to a design penned by Mark Whiteley in conjunction with Dykstra Naval Architects, she will have a 12-metre beam, weigh in at 1,150 tons, and accommodate 12 guests and 13 crew. Also in the mix are three Panamax masts measuring no more than 62.5 metres in height to allow her pass under the Bridge of the Americas and negotiate the Panama Canal.
It is still not known whether the owner will use the boat for racing but the 81-metre will have absolutely oodles of potential. She also comes with a price tag of 90 million euro and should be ready to launch at some point in 2020.
