SKY, the mega-sloop from Royal Huisman

An 81-meter-long sloop with a 93-meter mast, made in Rondal. This is SKY, a Royal Huisman design with naval architecture by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design and interiors by Winch Design. The launch is scheduled for spring 2030. It took six years to build this all-aluminum sailing megayacht, destined for global cruises, which Malcolm McKeon calls “a design that defies convention in both size and elegance.”

As maneuverable as a 50-meter yacht

The hull, also based on the experience gained by Royal Huisman and Malcolm McKeon in building Sarissa, a 59.70-meter sloop launched in 2023, has a lifting keel and double carbon rudders. The maneuverability and ease of handling will be that of a yacht “only” 50 meters long.

Environmentally friendly

SKY’s unique and sustainable auxiliary propulsion system consists of four main generators combined with a battery pack that powers azimuth pods, enabling silent and emission-free navigation.

Always in touch with the sea

The large outdoor areas, all with direct access to the sea, are available to 10-12 guests, including the owner, who can board with SKY. In particular, the aft beach club features an extendable bathing platform. Furthermore, the lazaretto is full-beam and features folding platforms on both sides, while the central cockpit, located under the flybridge and featuring a true open-air lounge, has movable railings.

Every water toy possible

There’s also plenty of space to store service boats and water toys. On SKY, the garage can accommodate a 12-meter limotender, plus an additional tender for crew use. As for water toys, there’s room for two jet skis and other equipment for various sports, such as seabobs, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, a comprehensive range of scuba diving equipment, and even bicycles for shore excursions.

Boundless spaces

The interiors, designed by Winch, are inspired by nature, featuring clean lines and natural textures. The colors are muted, and the furnishings are embellished with refined details. The boundaries between interior and exterior blur, evoking coastal landscapes through a sophisticated architectural vision.

A spectacular suite

The owner’s suite in particular is flooded with natural light from the numerous extra-large hull windows. It is full-beam and has direct access to the enormous aft deck.
