The new issue of Sea Time is out now

You’ll find the new issue of Sea Time inside Top Yacht Design number 22

The excitement of the speed. The taste of adventure. The charm of tradition. Sustainability and design. The sea and time: two terms that come to the fore in this edition of Sea Time with stories, interviews and insights that highlight the bond existing between them. The lock-down and the Covid-19 pandemic have not prevented the time industry from developing a wave of innovations that see the sea take center stage. The pages of this special are intended to involve some of the most important players of this sector through exclusive interviews. We asked Rayanald Aeschlimann, CEO and President of Omega, the reasons that led the Bienne company to place its name alongside not only Emirates Team New Zealand but also the 36th edition of the America’s Cup. We interviewed Patrick Pruniaux, CEO of Ulysse Nardin, the brand which will debut at the next Vendée Globe in November. Through the words of Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of Iwc Schaffhausen, we traced the reasons that prompted the Schaffhausen-based watchmaker to consecrate the sea through the new Portugieser collection. And we could no miss a chapter dedicated to design that has an important source of inspiration in the sixth continent, as evidenced by the 55 years since the launch of Seiko’s first diving watch. The final, and most important, word goes to sustainability, a front on which the entire watch sector has compacted itself to find and support new solutions for the protection and preservation of the marine environment. An area in which Rolex has much to tell.
