On 6 May the second unit of the new Mangusta Oceano 39 series was launched, sold to an American customer. This entry level of the Mangusta Oceano ‘displacement’ line was built in composite at the Viareggio shipyard. (Here all our posts on Mangusta)
Designed by Alberto Mancini
Mangusta Oceano 39 is a three-deck yacht designed by the yard’s technical department together with designer Alberto Mancini and in collaboration with Studio Verme, which handled the naval engineering. A yacht in which form, significant volumes (330 GT) and content are combined in an innovative and distinctive way, where the personality of the “minimal” aesthetics with the upper deck flaps built entirely in glass, translates into a new “seamless” lifestyle devoted to the pleasure of being at sea.
The large glass surfaces of the main deck and upper deck are full-height and partly openable to give continuity to the in & out spaces.
Mangusta Oceano: a villa on the sea
The result obtained is a “villa on the sea”, featuring all those elements that have made the Mangusta Oceano series a major commercial success in the United States, says Stefano Arlunno Mangusta President Americas. These unique elements are defined by the yard as “Standard Mangusta Design Features”, such as the Infinity pool in the bow area, and the aft area from which access is gained to the beach house, where at the touch of a single control, the aft platform is transformed into a comfortable relaxation area by means of two large side terraces above the water.
As usual, the interiors and layout are fully customisable and in this case have been developed by the yard’s design team, in a work that has seen its owner at the centre.
This unit is built with 2 x MTU 12V 2000 M86 long range engines of 1,700 HP each Mangusta Oceano 39 sails at a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12, with a range of 2,250 nautical miles.
The next unit available for sale is scheduled for delivery in spring 2026.
