VSY launched its new 64m yacht

On 10thJune the new 64-metre by VSY touched water for the first time during a beautiful sunny day in Livorno.

Motoryacht Atomic is the third of a timeless design series by the yachting archistar, Espen Oeino, and represents the evolution of the initial project seen in VSY’s first two yachts: Sealyon (ex Candyscape II) and RoMa.

The project, sold and overseen by Jean-Claude Carme of Thompson, Westwood & White Yachts, blossomed under his guidance into its current form, incorporating the elements of design, engineering and functionality the owner required.

Atomic is a real floating wonder of sophistication, which integrates advanced technical elements and top engineering solutions to further augment the simplicity and governability, such as a dynamic positioning system, diesel electric thrusters and higher-powered generators encased in sound-insulated cabins.

With an elegant upper class interior design by the French designer, Darnet Design, the new VSY 64M features six suites including a panoramic owner’s suite with exterior/interior terraces, a professional diving centre for all 12 guests and a sundeck with a large infinity pool aft and a cosy fire pit forward.

The yacht also integrates leading-edge environmental systems and programmes to reduce environmental impact and allow navigation in protected marine areas, for which VSY has become a reference point in the market.

In particular, the dynamic positioning system to respect seabed when anchoring, the special filters to purify exhaust fumes, the 4 x 200 kW generators to power the thrusters allowing to navigate under electric propulsion without starting the main engine.

This approach has fully satisfied the yacht’s owner wishes who intends to cruise in remote areas of the world in a spirit of respect for the environment and marine life.

The yacht, arrived in Livorno on a flatboat just for the launching, will now sail back to Viareggio for the completion and final delivery.
