Winch Design is responsible for the interiors of Icon Yachts’ 70-metre Project Master. This is a total refit of an offshore standby rescue vessel of almost 3,000 GT that has been designed to explore the most remote and unexplored regions of the world.
Espen Øino is responsible for the refit, while Winch Design is responsible for the interiors. Part of the original platform and superstructure will be retained, while a new elongated stern section will bring the total length to 70 metres. Master’s interior design aims to create a harmonious space where journeys and adventures can be planned and the connection with the ocean can inspire exploration.
Dedicated to the depths of the ocean, each deck of Master seamlessly transitions through a journey of light, texture and depth, while incorporating subtle references to the ship’s working heritage. At the top of the yacht, the owners deck is inspired by the surface of the ocean, with blue and sandy accents that mimic the tranquil light of shallow waters. As you descend, the tones and textures change, reflecting the evolution of the ocean depths.
The wellness deck offers richer tones and softer lighting, evoking the cooler, deeper waters. Replicating the mysterious depths of the lower layers, the main deck uses darker tones and distinct textures to create an intimate and introspective atmosphere. All the materials used are environmentally friendly.
