Giovanni Ceccarelli, beyond yachting

From One Of for regattas , to sailing and motor yachts for industrial production, all the way to the hulls for the America’s Cup (in 2000 in Auckland with Mascalzone Latino and in 2003 in Valencia with +39 Challenge) but also the project of recovery of the Costa Concordia.

In the curriculum of Giovanni Ceccarelli (son of art as the father Epaminondas was among the first Italian yacht designers and the first to design fiberglass boats) there is a lot; also having conceived and developed the system of caissons and ties that, in 2013, allowed him to straighten the cruise ship Costa Concordia and enable it to be towed to Genoa after it was stranded on the island of Giglio and nearly sank to the collision with the shallow waters of the island. With a CV that includes world titles and victories in the most important international regattas, the studio Ceccarelli Yacht Design and Engineering, founded in the late ’50s, is also involved in the design and development of marine and engineering facilities in civil architecture, as well as in yachting.
