Eegle by BYD

The BYD Group penned EEgle, a 20m motoryacht that ushers in a whole new idea of sustainability. Thanks to 600kWh batteries, she will have a cruising range of 80 nautical miles in full electric mode but will be able to get up to a maximum speed of 20 knots thanks to her four 150kW motors.

Thirty square metres of solar panels cover the hard top and these can generate a further 9kWh of extra energy. Having said that, sustainable does not mean uncomfortable by any means. EEgle’s interiors are generously sized, particularly given the fact that she is a 20m.

The large open plan saloon, for instance, has an open galley with a bar for quick meals and snacks, a dining area and two face-to-face sofas. It is also surrounded by large windows that flood it with natural light. There is another dining area on deck too. Moving down to the lower deck, three two-berth cabins take pride of place, one being the full-beam owner’s with en suite bathroom and dressing room.

Designed as a multifunctional space and including the bridge, the flying bridge also features sofas, chaises longues and a convenient hard top to provide shade from the sun.
